The 1. FC Bocholt has presented a new arrival. It is a Linsk defender who already knows the Regionalliga West.
In mid-July, Marcus John reported that 1. FC Bocholt was still looking for a left-back for the upcoming Regionalliga season. A good two weeks later, the sporting director of the promoted club was able to announce the signing. On Thursday evening, the Bocholt team announced the signing of Marko Stojanovic.
The 28-year-old last played for the south-west regional league team Rot-Weiß Koblenz. He has signed a two-year contract at the Hünting. It remains to be seen whether he will be able to play in the home match against Fortuna Düsseldorf’s U23 on Saturday (2 p.m., RS live ticker).
1st FC Bocholt: New signing has already played 62 times in Regionalliga West
Stojanovic is “exactly the type of player we were looking for”, says John about the new signing. “He brings a high dynamic as well as a good offensive drive and has gained plenty of Regionalliga experience. He has come through in every team he has played for there. We are delighted that he has signed for two years.”
Stojanovic has played 62 times (six goals, four assists) in the West Relay so far. He has worn the jerseys of Fortuna Köln, SC Wiedenbrück and SC Verl. He celebrated the championship with Fortuna in 2014 and was promoted to the 3rd division. There, the outfielder made one more appearance before leaving Cologne. Last season, Stojanovic was a member of Koblenz’s regular squad.
New signing Stojanovic: Staying in the league the most important goal
Bocholt coach Jan Winking is pleased with the newcomer, who can be used flexibly on the flank, and says: “Marko is able to see and fill the gaps there, he also shows strong runs down the flanks and can get out of difficult situations very well. Marko does his job absolutely conscientiously and has perfect size.”
Stojanovic himself explains, “The talks with the club were very relaxed and straightforward, everyone was very sympathetic from the start and I was well received at my trial training.” He wants to help the club “with as many appearances as possible, in the best case with a few assists or goals, of course. The most important thing, of course, is to stay in the league. “
