Promoted regional league side 1. FC Bocholt have found the replacement they were looking for for the injured Gino Windmüller. He comes from last year’s relegated team Bonner SC.
Due to a torn tendon in his foot, which had to be operated on, Bocholt’s centre-back Gino Windmüller will be out for months. Now those responsible at 1. FC Bocholt have reacted and found a replacement for the former RWE player: Leander Goralski from Bonner SC will play at the Hünting with immediate effect.
“After the injury to Gino Windmüller, we were on the lookout for a right-sided central defender who has a good build-up of play and a good presence. We are pleased to have found him in Leander Goralski,” says Bocholt’s sporting director Marcus John about the current new acquisition. “He is not only very experienced, but also fits perfectly into our team in terms of character. “
Goralski joins head coach Jan Winking’s eleven with the experience of 211 Regionalliga games. In his career, he has also played for Rot-Weiß Oberhausen, Viktoria Köln and the U23s of Fortuna Düsseldorf before joining Bonner SC. He also played for the state capital as a youth player. He played 34 games for Bonn last season.
“Leander brings everything with him that a regional league centre-back needs. He has super size, good tackling and plays a very clean ball,” Winking explains Goralski’s merits. “Throughout his game he has a great presence. That’s why he’s exactly the right man we’ve been missing.”
The 28-year-old signed a one-year contract and will be given the number 26 at the back for the Bocholt team. It is not yet clear whether he will be eligible to play in the home match against his former club, Fortuna Düsseldorf II, on Saturday afternoon. He himself is already looking forward to the new challenge. Goralski: “After the very good conversation with those responsible and the first impression of the team, it was quickly clear that I wanted to tackle the common goals together with 1. FC Bocholt. “
