Teammate Sergio Perez from Mexico finished second behind the Dutchman, with Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz from Spain in third place.
In the overall standings, championship leader Verstappen extended his already massive lead over Perez and his third world title is within reach.
A decisive overtaking maneuver against Sainz after 15 laps secured Verstappen his tenth consecutive Grand Prix triumph.
“That’s a nice statistic,” said the Dutchman with a grin. “I never thought that would be possible, but we had to work hard for it.”
“I just want to try and win the race. I don’t think about numbers. It would be nice to have the record, but in the end we are fighting for the world championship and we want to bring it home. It’s not about ten wins in a row,” Verstappen said before the start about the tangible record
