VfL Osnabrück cannot be satisfied with the way the 2022/2023 3rd division season has gone. The club is now considering winter reinforcements.
Actually, VfL Osnabrück wanted to be in the mix at the top before the season. But after 17 matches, the Lower Saxons cannot be satisfied.
Tobias Schweinsteiger’s team, who took over for Daniel Scherning who left for Arminia Bielefeld, managed to score just 22 points. No wonder, then, that reinforcements are definitely a topic for the winter.
As the “NOZ” reports, the Osnabrückers have now set their sights on Christopher Schepp.
The 22-year-old striker is currently scoring very well in the Regionalliga Nord. In 19 appearances for Blau-Weiß Lohne, he has scored twelve times. The VfL recently played against Lohne and was able to get an idea of Schepp. The third-division team won the test match against the fourth-division team with 2:0
But according to RevierSport information, Osnabrück are not the only ones interested in Schepp. The 1.92 metre tall attacker is also said to be on Eintracht Braunschweig’s wish list. It remains to be seen whether the attacker, who has scored four goals in addition to his twelve goals this season, will leave Lohne this winter. Currently, a transfer fee of 50,000 to 100,000 euros would be due for him. Schepp would then be available free of charge from 1 July 2023.
Schepp has been under contract at Lohne since July 2019. His competitive scoring record for the North Germans reads exceptionally well: 62 appearances, 40 goals, 11 assists! That has been registered at both Osnabrück and Braunschweig.
