The second team of Rot-Weiss Essen has assembled its Kreisliga A squad for the 2024/2025 season. However, RWE II is losing its 120-goal striker.
That is bitter! Both Dominik Milaszewski, who has currently scored 44 goals this season, and Emre Kilic (76 goals) will leave Rot-Weiss Essen II at the end of the season.
The 38-year-old Milaszewski declined to extend his contract, while Kilic backed out after committing to the coming season. “In Emre’s case, he is starting his own catering business. The time required will be immense. He can no longer meet our training requirements,” explained coach Stefan Lorenz. Kilic will join A-league team Blau-Weiß Fuhlenbrock in Bottrop.
Lorenz adds: “The fact that we are losing two strikers who have scored well over 100 goals is of course not easy to cope with. But we’ve also gained some good players. Our squad is set early on.”
Lorenz has landed ten new players with RWE II team manager Frank Kurth. These are Marcel Schwarze, Marvin Paulsen, Timo Wolter (all Vogelheimer SV), Luis Förster (Tusem Essen), Oliver Jastrzebowski, Maximilian Riedel (both Turngemeinde Essen-West II), Joel Leon Bema (SV Preußen Eiberg II), Kevin Grund, Marcel Platzek (both SV Schermbeck) and Sascha Hartl (SV Burgaltendorf III).
In addition to Kilic and Milaszewski, a total of nine players – Sebastian Rosbach (end of career), Florian Schön, Dogan Utus, Patrick Ritter, Pascal Repping, Dennis Butowski and Sven Cernuta (all destination unknown) – will also be leaving the RWE reserves.
After promotion to the Kreisliga A is before promotion to the Bezirksliga. Lorenz emphasizes: “We’ve wasted enough years in the Kreisliga B. Of course we have put together a squad to tackle the next promotion. But we will certainly not be given anything for free – on the contrary: we will have to work hard for our points in the Kreisliga A. We’ll start with that in the summer preparations. “
