While one of the eight summer departures from MSV Duisburg is making a breakthrough at the league competition, two others are suffering from injury luck. The overview.
Julian Hettwer: The 20-year-old striker hope left MSV Duisburg for Borussia Dortmund’s second team in the summer. The move has paid off in full so far: In 21 games, Hettwer scored six times, made seven assists and is an absolute starter on the right wing.
Marlon Frey: Frey also regularly plays in the defensive midfield for league rivals TSV 1860 Munich, although he has only made eight of the 19 appearances for the starting eleven. He is fighting against relegation with the Lions.
Marvin Ajani: Ajani, on the other hand, has been dogged by bad luck since joining Halleschen FC in the summer. He has not played a game since the 3-2 defeat to Waldhof Mannheim at the end of August 2023. Initially, a knee injury held him back. Currently, he is still behind in training. He has only appeared on the pitch twice for the Hallenser.
Moritz Stoppelkamp: He is missed by more than a few people. Stoppelkamp is doing well for Rot-Weiß Oberhausen. He is an absolute starter in the Regionalliga West, scoring ten goals in 18 games as an attacking midfielder. He has also provided eight assists. RWO are currently in fourth place.
Leroy Kwadwo: Kwadwo also plays for the Lions and has earned a place in the center of the defense. He even scored in the most recent 1:1 tie against SV Sandhausen. He has scored a total of two goals in 18 games.
Aziz Bouhaddouz: The native Moroccan ended up in the Regionalliga Südwest with FSV Frankfurt. He was unable to establish himself at the club, making 14 appearances and only starting three of them. He scored one goal and provided two assists. He retired at the end of last year.
Vincent Gembalies: After starting the season as a regular for Regionalliga West side SC Paderborn II, a muscle fiber rupture in October 2023 put the brakes on his progress. Gemablies did not play for a long time after that, only making his comeback at the weekend in the 3-1 win against FC Gütersloh. He has played a total of seven games.
Lukas Raeder: First without a club, then ending his career and now back after all. Lukas Raeder has been under contract with Oberliga club TuS Bövinghausen since January 2024.
