While one of MSV Duisburg’s eight summer departures is making a start with their league rivals, two others are suffering from bad luck with injuries. The overview.
Julian Hettwer: The 20-year-old striker left MSV Duisburg for Borussia Dortmund’s second team in the summer. The move has paid off so far: In 21 games, Hettwer scored six times, provided seven assists and is absolutely set as a right winger.
Marlon Frey: Frey also plays regularly in defensive midfield for league rivals TSV 1860 Munich, although he has only made the starting eleven eight times in 19 appearances. He is fighting against relegation with the Löwen.
Marvin Ajani: Ajani, on the other hand, has been plagued by bad luck since joining Halle FC in the summer. He hasn’t played a game since the 2:3 against Waldhof Mannheim at the end of August 2023. A knee injury initially slowed him down. He is currently still behind in training. He only made two appearances for the team from Halle.
Moritz Stoppelkamp: Quite a few mourn him. Things are going well for Stoppelkamp at Rot-Weiß Oberhausen. He is a mainstay in the Regionalliga West, scoring ten goals in 18 games as an attacking midfielder. He has also provided eight assists. RWO are currently in fourth place.
Leroy Kwadwo: Kwadwo also plays for the Lions and has fought for his place in central defense. He even scored in the recent 1:1 draw against SV Sandhausen. He has scored a total of two goals in 18 games
Aziz Bouhaddouz: The Moroccan-born player moved to FSV Frankfurt in the Regionalliga Südwest. He was unable to make a lasting impression with the Bornheimers, only starting three times in 14 appearances. He scored one goal and made two assists. He ended his career at the turn of the year.
Vincent Gembalies: After starting the season as a regular at Regionalliga West side SC Paderborn II, a muscle fiber tear slowed him down in October 2023. Gemablies then played no part for a long time and only made his comeback on the pitch at the weekend in the 3-1 win against FC Gütersloh. He has played a total of seven games.
Lukas Raeder: First without a club, then ended his career and now back after all. Lukas Raeder has been under contract with Oberliga club TuS Bövinghausen since January 2024
