This veteran has scored 14 goals in the Bavarian Regionalliga after 15 games and leads the Regionalliga scorers’ list across all seasons.

“For the moment, that definitely makes me proud. But I also know that the situation can change quickly. Last season, I was also at the top for a long time. In the final spurt of the season, however, I was overtaken by Patrick Hobsch from SpVgg Unterhaching. I’m doing my best to fight off the competition. But it will be difficult to stay in front until the end of the season,” Jabiri told the DFB portal “fussball.de”.

Even though Jabiri is an absolute team player, he is naturally happy about his quota as a striker, as he reveals: “Although team success always comes first, of course. But as a striker I am measured by goals. And for me as an attacker, it’s still a great feeling to push the ball over the line.”

The 111-time third division player, who also recorded one Bundesliga appearance for TSG Hoffenheim, does not want to think about the end of his career just yet. He has a tip for all those who still want to be active in their late 30s. Jabiri: “The most important thing is to be more diligent than the others. That’s the only way I can continue to reach the level of the younger ones. Besides, I have become more relaxed over the years. I still get very annoyed when I miss a goal. But I can deal with it better now and focus more quickly on the next opportunity. Above all, however, there is a functioning team. If we don’t have that, I won’t score any goals. “
