“175th Anniversary” – This is what the special jersey looks like

It has become a tradition for VfL Bochum to present a special jersey. At the Legends match on Saturday, the latest one will be seen for the first time.

It is becoming a tradition for VfL Bochum to present a special jersey in addition to the home, away and alternate jerseys during the season. There was one, for example, after play resumed after Corona. There was one for the 700th anniversary of the city of Bochum. Last season, the rainbow special jersey with the slogan “United live peacefully” was sold out within a very short time. On Friday, the club now released the jersey for the “175th anniversary”.

The light blue jerseys feature the city map of Bochum with a focus on the ring around the city centre. The small heart marks the location of the Ruhr Stadium. This Friday, the jersey will be available in the online shop from 6.48 pm. The players of the Legends eleven, which will play against an Ü40 city selection at the Vonovia Ruhrstadion on Saturday from 4.30 p.m., will be the first to wear it.

VfL Bochum: Professionals wear special jersey against Eintracht Frankfurt

At the home game against Eintracht Frankfurt, the professional team will also wear these jerseys one week later. The red jersey with a large print of the sponsor, the Bochum brewery Fiege, which the players of the Ü40 city selection will wear in the match against the legends, will not be available for free sale.

Most recently, the VfL Bochum special jerseys were available in limited editions. For example, the jersey for the city’s anniversary came in an edition of 4630, the old postcode of the city.

The rainbow special jerseys, which the Bochum professionals then wore in the championship match against Mönchengladbach, were also auctioned off. The Bochum team had done a similar action after the resumption of play after the first Corona interruption. They played against Heidenheim in May 2020 in a special black jersey. They were also auctioned off. At the time, almost 50,000 euros were raised.
