There are still ten days to go before the Regionalliga West kicks off. Right from the start, there will be the top match between Alemannia Aachen and Wuppertaler SV – with an appropriate crowd.

The first matchday in the Regionalliga West will see an absolute top match. Alemannia Aachen and Wuppertaler SV are two teams that have upgraded a lot this summer.

No wonder that in the big forecasting coaches’ survey, every coach – with the exception of Rödinghausen’s Carsten Rump, who did not want to give any tips – ranked both teams among the big favourites for promotion. The duel, which will take place on Friday, 28 July, at 7.30 pm at the Aachen Tivoli, is correspondingly groundbreaking.

In addition to top-class regional league football, a great crowd can also be expected there. The Aachen team has set a target of “19,000 + X fans” for the start of the season. Ten days before the season opener, the club has now announced an interim status.

Over 12,000 tickets sold

According to this, 12,241 tickets had already been sold in advance on Tuesday afternoon. This includes the 5,204 season tickets that have already been sold. So just under 7,000 spectators are still needed to reach the big goal.

The club is also proclaiming a motto for the fans. “All in yellow” is the motto. The Wuppertal fan scene has also already set a dress code. Together, they will wear the red and blue jersey on the train to Aachen.

One day later, the majority of the other clubs will also start the season. Rot-Weiß Oberhausen will travel to SC Wiedenbrück, the Schalker U23 will meet 1. FC Bocholt. The duel between SC Paderborn U23 and FC Gütersloh will be played on the following Sunday. During the week, the derby between 1. FC Köln U23 and Fortuna Köln will take place (Tuesday, 1 August).
