A club from the Mittelrheinliga seems to have big plans. Eintracht Hohkeppel have signed two renowned Regionalliga West strikers.
Eintracht Hohkeppel wants to attack the top of the Mittelrheinliga in the coming season. The club from the municipality of Lindlar in the Oberbergischer Kreis in North Rhine-Westphalia has signed two experienced Regionalliga West strikers.
From the former fourth-division team 1.FC Kaan-Marienborn, who voluntarily moved to the Kreisliga C, comes offensive power Enzo Wirtz. The 27-year-old played 30 games last season and scored eight times. In total, Wirtz played in 203 Fourth Division games and scored 40 goals.
Wirtz played continuously in the Regionalliga West from 2015 to 2023. In addition to Kaan-Marienborn, he was also under contract with clubs such as Rot-Weiss Essen, Wuppertaler SV, Bonner SC and SV Rödinghausen. Now Eintracht Hohkeppel is added to his CV.
David Bors also has a respectable CV. The 28-year-old striker played for 1. FC Düren in the last series. In total, Bors has 98 matches (30 goals) in the Regionalliga West. Bors trained with 1. FC Köln and later signed for Viktoria Köln, Bonner SC, Progress Niederkorn (Luxembourg), TuS Erndtebrück and Alemannia Aachen. Bors experienced his best time in Bonn when he scored 26 goals in 69 games for BSC. From now on, he will play with Hohkeppel against Bonn.
Besides Wirtz and Bors, Eintracht Hohkeppel also presented Gabriel Nbongo (23, FC Pesch), Kaito Kajitani (24, TuS Ennepetal), Sami Akremi (21, FC Blau-Weiß Friesdorf), Kevin Jackmuth (28, Viktoria Arnoldsweiler) and Matteo Tessarolo (26, FV Wiehl) as new arrivals.
On the Facebook page of the Mittelrheinliga club, the goal of 2023/2024 is once again emphasised, here it says: “The season’s goal has also been officially set once again: The championship is the goal in the Mittelrheinliga, as it was in the previous season!”
