24 Bundesliga games! Relegation candidate presents a new striker

In the 3rd division, SSV Ulm 1846 is fighting to stay in the league. A new striker is now expected to do what Dominik Martinovic has not been able to do due to injury.

SSV Ulm 1846 signed Dominik Martinovic from Rot-Weiss Essen in the summer. The 28-year-old was expected to take responsibility in attack – and initially did so with one goal and one assist in three third division games.

But then came the cruciate ligament rupture that continues to keep Martinovic out of action. When he returns, he will also have to contend with new competition. SSV Ulm has signed Streli Mamba. The 31-year-old, who was born in Göppingen, has signed a contract with SSV Ulm 1846 until June 30, 2026, with an option to extend, and has been given the number 45 shirt.

Streli Mamba is an experienced striker who was born and raised in the region. “For me, it’s like coming home. I know SSV Ulm 1846 soccer well from my childhood in the region. Now, after so many years, being able to play for the club is something special, and I will do my best to ensure that we achieve our big goal of staying in the league together,” said the 31-year-old, who was most recently without a club.

Points Table

He took his first steps in soccer at FTSV Kuchen and SV Ebersbach before moving to VfB Stuttgart’s NLZ. After further stints in the youth sector, he played for FC 08 Homburg in the Regionalliga Südwest. In professional soccer, he played for SC Paderborn, Hansa Rostock, and Energie Cottbus, among others.

He has made 24 appearances in the Bundesliga (five goals), 15 games in the 2nd Bundesliga (one goal), 36 games in the 3rd league (eleven goals), and 58 regional league games (27 goals). He has also played in Turkey, Kazakhstan, and China. So he has already traveled quite a bit.

“Streli has seen and experienced a lot in his career. But what he has always managed to do is score goals. He has had a good scoring rate at all his clubs, and we hope he will continue to do so in Ulm,” said Ulm’s managing director Stephan Schwarz.
