MSV Duisburg clearly wants to consolidate its strong position in the third division. The next new signing is on his way.
Second day of the year, second new signing? According to Forecasting, MSV Duisburg is apparently working on its next signing: Lex-Tyger Lobinger from FC Viktoria Cologne is about to join the Zebras.
The 26-year-old would take on the role of striker in coach Dietmar Hirsch’s team. There is definitely a need for this. On the one hand, because MSV has scored the fewest goals (32) of the top four teams in the 3rd division. On the other hand, because Conor Noß (six goals) and Patrick Sussek (five) are the two wingers who pose the greatest goal threat. Lobinger has already scored nine times in 17 games this season alone. His record in the 3rd division: 54 games, 24 goals. In addition, he has played 60 second division games (two goals) and 90 games in the Regionalliga West (23 goals). Lobinger still has a contract with Viktoria Cologne until the end of the season. The striker previously played for VfL Osnabrück, 1. FC Kaiserslautern, Fortuna Düsseldorf, and Wattenscheid 09. MSV Duisburg: Lobinger would be the second new signing this winter Lobinger would be MSV Duisburg’s second new signing in the still young winter transfer window. Just in time for their departure to the training camp in Belek (Turkey), the third-placed team in the 3rd division announced the signing of Aljaz Casar. The 25-year-old midfielder, who can also play in central defense, comes from second division club Dynamo Dresden and has played twelve games in the current season.
MSV sporting director Chris Schmoldt recently emphasized that he does not see the Zebras under pressure in the transfer market. Rather, one or two reserve players are likely to be considering whether they could play a more important role at another club.
Now there are signs that Duisburg could sign two new players in just two days.
