Rot-Weiss Essen goes into the winter break with 33 points. And dreams of the 2nd Bundesliga are becoming more and more realistic. RWE has become a top team.
After this comeback against Halleschen FC and the 3-2 victory, it’s clear that you have to say about Rot-Weiss Essen: this is how a top team in the 3rd division plays. And that’s RWE – now at the latest.
Christoph Dabrowski and his protégés have scored 33 points after 19 games. As a reminder: when they were promoted in the 2022/2023 season, they ended up with 42 points. This red-and-white team is fun for every fan.
And the coach is also pleased with what has happened in the last 19 encounters. Dabrowski said after the Halle madness to “MagentaSport”: “It’s fantastic what happened in the second half, even though we got the setback right at the beginning. But then we pushed without end, after we made a tactical change. It was only a matter of time before the goals fell. I’m extremely proud of the boys. It speaks to the character of the team.”
And what about the table, Mr. Dabrowski? He replied, ”A great snapshot. Starting tomorrow, I’ll be on vacation and maybe I’ll take a look at the table then. We’ve established a great starting position. But we have to have the ambition to stay hungry and greedy. We like winning games and if we keep doing that, we’ll be sniffing at the top half of the table. It just feels awesome.”
We want to be up there as long as possible. We’re hungry for more!
