Basketball superstar LeBron James has set a record in the NBA that is ripe for eternity. The key Los Angeles Lakers player crowned himself the most successful point scorer of all time, replacing Kareem Abdul Jabbar as the record holder after almost four decades.
The 75-year-old was on hand especially for the foreseeable event at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, where the spectators were standing on their heads.
The game was then briefly interrupted to mark the historic occasion. In the end, the 38-year-old James scored 38 390 points – three more than Abdul Jabbar. Among the prominent well-wishers were Joe Biden, Bill Clinton, but also former German NBA ace Dirk Nowitzki. “Unbelievable,” Nowitzki commented on Twitter.
