51-time third division player to the southwest – Würzburg coach gone after title

Planning for the coming season is not only in full swing in the Regionalliga West. There is also exciting news in the south-west and in Bavaria.

Valdrin Mustafa actually played a decent role at SSV Jahn Regensburg last season. The striker at least made regular substitute appearances, appearing a total of 22 times (two assists) in the third division. But that is clearly not enough for him.

The 26-year-old has now signed for the south-west regional league club Kickers Offenbach. “I’m really looking forward to the exciting task and the emotional OFC fans and want to contribute to their success with my performances and goals,” said Mustafa.

Mustafa played a total of 51 games in the 3rd division for Jahn, Viktoria Köln and Elversberg in the past two years, in which he scored five goals and recorded three assists. In the Regionalliga Südwest, he scored 32 goals in 67 games for RW Koblenz and SV Elversberg, contributed eight assists and played a key role in Elversberg’s promotion.

“With Valdrin, we are delighted to be able to sign a real nine-man for OFC, who proved his goalscoring qualities in Elversberg’s promotion season in particular. Valdrin’s strengths lie in the penalty area and in finishing goals, and he should be able to score OFC goals with his scoring instinct,” said Offenbach’s sporting director Christian Hock.

Würzburger Kickers and coach Wildersinn part company

On the other hand, Würzburger Kickers’ championship-winning coach Marco Wildersinn will no longer be with the club. He had led FWK to a commanding title in the Regionalliga Bayern, but then missed out on promotion to the 3rd division in the relegation play-off against Hannover 96 II on penalties.

“Working with the coaching team and the team gave me great pleasure every day and together with all the staff and the fans we were able to celebrate many victories. It was a great time at FWK and we can be proud of what we have achieved,” he commented on his departure.

Now the Kickers and Wildersinn are parting ways after two years. As the Kickers announced on Wednesday morning, June 12, Markus Zschiesche will take over.

“The club is determined to reach the 3rd division, and I have the same goal as a coach. Of course, it won’t be a sure-fire success, which is why I’m not a man of many words, but try to let actions speak for themselves. We have a lot of work to do. And it starts right away,” said the new signing from north-east regional league side Babelsberg 03.
