73 games and 35 scorer points for BVB II – FCK snatches up this offensive player

1. FC Kaiserslautern have signed another new player: Richmond Tachie joins the Red Devils with immediate effect. The 24-year-old attacker joins FCK from second-division rivals SC Paderborn.

“Richmond is a very well-trained striker who can play all positions offensively. We want to accompany him in his next development steps. He is an absolute team player and gives us more variability in the offensive,” commented FCK managing director Thomas Hengen on the signing of this summer’s fourth newcomer.

Previously, the Palatinate club had signed Tobias Raschl (Greuther Fürth), Jan Elvedi (SSV Jahn Regensburg) and Tymoteusz Puchacz (Union Berlin, on loan). Now Tachie is also coming.

Born in Berlin, Tachie started playing football in the youth teams of Tennis Borussia Berlin before moving to the youth training centre of Bundesliga team VfL Wolfsburg. There he played for all teams up to the U23 level.

Further stations in his career were Viktoria Köln and Borussia Dortmund II. At BVB, Richmond Tachie celebrated the Regionalliga championship and promotion to the 3rd league as a key player. In two seasons in the Regionalliga West and in the 3rd Liga, the striker played a total of 73 league games for BVB and scored 35 points (17 goals, 18 assists). He then moved to SC Paderborn. He played 17 times in the Second Division and twice in the DFB Cup for the East Westphalians.

“1. FC Kaiserslautern is an incredible club with really great fans. I’ve already had the chance to play twice at the Betze and I’m looking forward to playing as a Red Devil from now on. My goal is to help the team and to play a successful season,” said Tachie about his move.
