Cancellation! Success manager stays with SV Elversberg

Elversberg’s success manager Nils-Ole Book has reportedly rejected an offer from SC Paderborn. The second-division club is currently looking for a new sporting director.

SV Elversberg’s successful first half of the season has meanwhile aroused covetousness in the higher leagues. SC Paderborn, for example, has apparently made an effort to find Nils-Ole Book. According to transfermarkt.de, however, the successful manager of the Saarland club has apparently turned down the offer.

The East Westphalians are currently looking for a new sporting director. Fabian Wohlgemuth left the second-division club at the end of last week and will succeed the ousted Sven Mislintat at VfB Stuttgart. According to their own statements, the Paderborn team had received “appropriate compensation” for the departure of their sporting director.

Book had started as a youth scout at SV Elversberg in the summer of 2017 after ending his playing career at SV Wehen Wiesbaden. A little over a year later, he succeeded Roland Seitz and was promoted to sporting director in October 2018. In the summer, things started to look up for the club: SV Elversberg now leads the 3rd division with 41 points from 17 games.

In return, Book even received a promotion at his own club. From the coming season, the Beckum-born player will be working as sports director at SVE. “However, Ole Book has done an excellent job in squad planning and composition not only this summer, but also in previous years. The achievements of the past few months also bear his signature,” said President Dominik Holzer, explaining this move.
