Edin Terzic praises Marco Reus – a regular player drops out

BVB welcomes SC Freiburg on Saturday, the fourth plays against the fifth. Coach Edin Terzic has to make tough decisions again.

Borussia Dortmund will have to replace the yellow-banned Salih Özcan in their home match against SC Freiburg on Saturday (15.30/Sky); however, BVB have not added any other injured players. Thomas Meunier returns to team training this week, but the full-back cannot yet play against Freiburg. Mateau Morey is also still missing.

So coach Edin Terzic will have to make tough decisions again. In the 2-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen, for example, captain Marco Reus was only on the bench after catching a cold. Terzic did not reveal whether he would return to the starting eleven against Freiburg. But he praised the Dortmund native on Thursday.

“He is our captain, he plays an extremely important role for us. And we missed him a lot, we are just happy that he is healthy again, that he is fit again. The rest we will see. The handling is good, he feels good. We know about his qualities,” said Terzic.

Freiburg against BVB, this is a top match in the Bundesliga, both teams are level on points. Dortmund is fourth, SC Freiburg is fifth. “They are doing outstandingly well. We expect an intense game, what will be close again,” Edin Terzic said.

Edin Terzic also commented on the loan deal with Thorgan Hazard, the Belgian playing for PSV Eindhoven for six months. “We have always been in contact with each other. He feels good with this move. Eindhoven is in the middle of the championship fight.”

So is BVB. The gap to FC Bayern is now only three points.
