France have made up ground in the battle for the European rugby crown. After a painful away defeat to Ireland, the French found themselves back on track against Scotland at home in the Stade de France in Saint-Denis, near Paris.
On the third matchday of the Six Nations tournament, France’s Gael Fickou scored a bonus point to make the final score 32-21.

Afterwards, team-mate François Cros spoke of a work victory and a good result, even though his team had to give everything. They returned from Ireland empty-handed.
Ireland remain favourites
Defending champions France have temporarily redeemed themselves after their home win. England are also well in the running after their 20-10 away win over Wales in Cardiff. Ireland kept their heads up with a 34-20 win over Italy in Rome and remain unbeaten at the top of the table.
Behind the Irish (15 points), the three teams on equal points (10 points) – Scotland, England and France – still have a shot at the unofficial European championship.

Rose: “He will definitely be a world-class player “
In Manchester’s ranks is a man Leipzig coach Marco Rose knows well: Norwegian Erling Haaland was part of his team first at Salzburg, then at Dortmund. He has scored four goals in five Champions League games this season. In Bundesliga times, Haaland scored particularly often against Leipzig.
