Third division football club 1. FC Saarbrücken will be the first German professional club to be allowed to welcome football fans to the stadium again without restrictions.

As the Saarland state government announced on Wednesday evening, the corona measures for outdoor events will be further relaxed from 29 October.

There will be “no more corona-related restrictions, nor will compliance with the 3G regulation be required there,” according to a statement from the state chancellery. The new rules will also apply to football stadiums, government spokesman Alexander Zeyer confirmed to Saarländischer Rundfunk.

This would allow the Saarbrücken team to fill the Ludwigspark Stadium again without restrictions for the first time on 6 November in the prestige duel against 1. FC Kaiserslautern.

In other federal states, such as Bavaria or Lower Saxony, there is also no longer a spectator cap, but only with the application of specific regulations, such as 2G or 3G-Plus.
