KFC Uerdingen has expanded its board of directors with two new members. Now the plans for the next season in the Oberliga Niederrhein are to be pushed forward.

KFC Uerdingen is playing a disappointing season in the Oberliga Niederrhein. In order to make things better in the coming season, the club is currently pushing ahead with its personnel planning. As is well known, Marcus John will join the team as the new coach and sporting director in the summer.

And the Krefeld club has also announced two new additions to the board. The KFC board of directors has appointed Marc Schürmann and Sebastian Thißen to the club’s management. They complete the board, which already includes chairman Damien Raths, deputy chairman Andreas and Christoph Lenz. After the resignation of Sven Hartmann last year, the board had shrunk to the minimum size of three members stipulated in the statutes.

As acting youth director, Thißen is to strengthen and expand the club’s youth work and, due to his professional expertise, accompany the building management. Schürmann’s areas of responsibility include merchandising and events as well as the acquisition of sponsors.

“In order to be able to set up individual areas and the club even better and more professionally in the long term, we are now pleased to have reinforcements after good discussions in recent weeks,” CEO Raths is quoted as saying in a club statement. “We are very much looking forward to the cooperation. The preliminary talks have shown that both are team players and we complement each other well. Now we will push ahead together with the preparations for the upcoming Oberliga season. “
