And Jamal Musiala? Bayern defender Matthijs de Ligt took him to task for his clumsily caused handball penalty. “Jamal is not a defender. I’m sure Jamal will learn from this.” He was “mega disappointed”, Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel said, “but why should I be angry? We got two goals with two long-range shots, otherwise I can’t remember any chances. In the end, it’s our own fault, we know that. We win together and we lose together.”

Bayern’s season remains a shaky one. FC Bayern’s remarkable 4-2 win over Borussia Dortmund was followed by another setback. The Munich side now take on Freiburg this weekend, a rematch of sorts. Perhaps Jamal Musiala and Christian Streich will find each other after all.
