FC Schalke has easily reached the 2nd round of the DFB Cup. The opponent caused a stir with a humorous banner message.

Compulsory task mastered: FC Schalke 04 beat regional league team Bremer SV 5:0 (4:0) in the first round of the DFB Cup.

It was the duel of the promoted teams. Schalke were promoted from the 2nd Bundesliga to the Bundesliga. Bremer SV secured the championship in the Bremen-Liga and now plays in the Regionalliga Nord. Unbeaten, Bremer SV prevailed in the Bremen-Liga. With an incredible 98 points and 152 goals scored.

Obviously, it wasn’t the game of the year at all, because promotion has been above everything lately. If you look at the club’s history, you can understand why the supporters were so excited about promotion. Often the team only came second, then they became champions several times (sometimes without losing), but the licence for the 4th league was not presentable. Now everything fit – the fans obviously more than celebrated that.
