1. FC Bocholt with false start and fitness problems

Two games, two defeats: A mammoth task awaits 1.FC Bocholt in the Regionalliga West. Coach Jan Winking is already talking about a false start before the game against Preußen Münster.

After two match days, 1. FC Bocholt still has no points in the Regionalliga West. Coach Jan Winking speaks of a false start: “We are not satisfied, that is clear. Overall, we still have a lot of work to do to get to the level we need. We also had good phases in both games, but that doesn’t matter now. You’re left with zero points after two games and that’s against opponents we were certainly expecting something against.”

Even though Winking is not satisfied with his team’s performance, important lessons were learned from the first games: “We don’t yet have the fitness you need in the Regionalliga. In five weeks of preparation, we only had the whole squad together for a fortnight.” Despite the teething problems, the coach has full confidence in his team: “The quality of the players is still good, we have a lot of experience in the squad. If we make fewer mistakes and reach the fitness level we need, things should get much better in the next few weeks. “

A floodlit match in Münster is probably the toughest task you can have

The first opportunity to make amends awaits on Friday at league favourites Preußen Münster. “Of course we know what’s in store for us there. A floodlit match in Münster is probably the most difficult task you can have. We’re really up for it, the pressure is on the Münster players,” explains Winking. “In my eyes, we can be nasty enough to annoy a team like that and wear down the opponent. It’s quite clear that you can’t defend everything there for 90 minutes, we’ll need that certain luck in our counterattacks and rely on our goalkeeper. “

No easy task awaits Bocholt in the coming week with Wuppertaler SV. Thus, the Winking eleven runs the risk of prolonging the false start. But the 26-year-old remains positive. “Even against Münster and Wuppertal, a lot is possible. If we are without points after four games, we have to question ourselves more in the direction of Düren and Düsseldorf, even if we don’t want to think about that at the moment. But after four matchdays, the season is definitely not over yet. “
