Reinforcement from Dortmund! Ex-Regionalliga player signs on

And almost every day the groundhog says hello, or rather, a new personnel decision at ETB Schwarz-Weiß Essen. This time it is once again an external transfer.

A few days ago, RevierSport reported that Niko Bosnjak will play for ETB Schwarz-Weiß Essen from 1 July 2023. Now the official confirmation followed.

The 20-year-old offensive player is moving from Dortmund’s Oberliga club TuS Bövinghausen to Essen in the Oberliga Niederrhein. Florian Usein will also be going the same way next season – RS reported.

Bosnjak even brings Regionalliga West experience from his time at SG Wattenscheid 09 with him to the south of Essen. He made ten appearances for 09 in the 4th division before moving to Bövinghausen in the 2023 winter break, where he has only played in two championship games so far due to a foot injury. Before that, he had also laced up his shoes for FC Kray.

Bosnjak will make a new start at ETB in the summer. Bosnjak: “ETB is a very good address for young and hungry players. Since I left Kray, I have been in contact with Damian Apfeld from time to time. We have exchanged ideas on a regular basis. Recently, I had a very good conversation with Karl Weiß, Günther Oberholz and Damian. They made a lot of effort to help me. I have to emphasise Damian, who I owe a lot to as a coach. I hope to stay injury-free next season and play a similarly strong season as I did in Kray. Of course I want to become a regular player at ETB. “

“With Niko’s signing, we have been able to convince one of the greatest talents born in 2002 in Essen of our training path. His greatest strength is his offensive ‘one on one’ game, which he often gilds with goals. In his first season in the Oberliga, he was one of the most eye-catching players of his age group, which also earned him a place in the Regionalliga. We hope that Niko will enrich our offensive game with many successful dribblings and that he will develop into an even more complete player with us,” added ETB coach Apfeld, who already worked with Bosnjak at FC Kray.
