Thanks to a convincing performance against 1. FC Bocholt (5:0), SC Preußen Münster remains top of the Regionalliga West for the time being. The goal difference of 10:1 after three match days speaks for itself. It was the 16th Regionalliga match in which the eagle-bearers were able to score across the season.

Head coach Sascha Hildmann spoke of the “more mature game” and praised the opponent’s defence in the early phase: “The opponent with the 5-4-1 system – it is always difficult to create chances. Especially in the centre, we had a hard time finding gaps. We actually played quite well until the last third, but then we were too inaccurate and made life difficult for ourselves. We should have been better at getting the balls to our team-mates. “

Hildmann: “Great performance” in half-time two

8099 spectators in the Preußenstadion saw a balanced game at the beginning and a promoted team from Bocholt that did not hide. Coach Jan Winking summed up: “We acted relatively balanced in the first half hour and had two good chances.” Kevin Grund had one of them on his foot, but failed to beat the attentive Maximilian Schulze Niehues. Hildmann knew who to thank: “Max kept us in the game when we had a great chance. We were very lucky.” The 1-0 opening goal then came from an own goal by defender Marc Beckert.

After going into the dressing room, the home side showed a more dominant face and demonstrated enormous offensive power. Nicolai Remberg and Andrew Wooten increased the score with their double-packs. Hildmann had nothing but praise for the goals: “In the second half we really showed a great performance. We had good positional play and were able to reward ourselves with very nice goals.”

In addition to the game, the 50-year-old said the floodlit backdrop also contributed to what he described as a “really nice evening”: “We took the spectators with us, they carried us. I hope that they will all come again for the next match.

Still no point for Bocholt – Next chance: Wuppertaler SV

After SG Wattenscheid 09, 1. FC Bocholt, the second team to be promoted in the still young season, got to feel how difficult it is to play SCP in their own stadium. “The final score of 0:5 hurts, of course.
