The DJK Arminia Klosterhardt is reorganising its sporting management. A former second division professional is now also part of the team in charge of the Landesliga club.

In the 2023/2024 season, Arminia Klosterhardt would like to make up for what the Landesliga club failed to achieve in the past series: promotion to the Oberliga.

The squad is as good as set – Forecasting reported. Now Klosterhardt also announced personnel decisions in the sporting management.

The 40-year-old Dennis Washofer will take over the sporting management of the senior team and the U19 team for the new season.

Washofer has worked as head coach at SC Buschhausen 1912 and BW Fuhlenbrock, as well as at functionary level in various areas, for example in marketing or as sporting director. The family man is now very well networked in the Oberhausen/Bottrop district and is looking forward to the new challenge.

Washofer says: “Due to my positive past at Arminia, I was very happy about the request and didn’t have to think twice. We had good talks and the club’s ideas and mine fitted together very well. I am happy to be part of the Arminia family again and to continue supporting a successful and structured club in achieving its goals. Of course, I’m also very happy to be able to work together with many old acquaintances again.”

In addition to Andre Stange, who will continue to share responsibility for matters concerning the Landesliga team, Washofer will be supported by Daniel Embers. The 42-year-old father of two was once a professional and player in the legendary Rot-Weiß Oberhausen promotion team. The “Malocher team” succeeded in being promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga in 2008. Ember’s CV includes a total of 65 appearances in the 2nd division, 45 in the regional league and over 200 appearances in the top division.

After his career, the father of two was co-coach at the youth training centres of RW Oberhausen and MSV Duisburg, until he was hired as head coach by the A-Ligisten FC Taxi Duisburg in 2020. He will continue to hold this position and is therefore currently only available in an advisory capacity.
