The portal Transfermarkt.de has made an update. There are more losers than winners at FC Schalke 04.
Almost a month has already passed since the end of the Bundesliga season. FC Schalke 04’s great race to catch up in the second half of the season went unrewarded – the Revierklub was once again relegated to the second division.
Nevertheless, there were some bright spots for the Königsblauen. This is also reflected in Transfermarkt.de’s market value update. The industry portal has upgraded eight S04 professionals. However, 15 Schalke players have also lost value. And: Of the eight players who have increased in value, only two will definitely wear the blue and white jersey beyond the summer: Henning Matriciani and Justin Heekeren.
Crowd favourite Matriciani increased his salary by 200,000 euros to 1.2 million euros after his season marked by highlights. When he joined the club three years ago, Transfermarkt.de valued him at 75,000 euros. In addition, substitute goalkeeper Justin Heekeren experienced a slight improvement to 250,000 euros (previously 225,00).
The biggest market value winners leave Schalke
On the other hand, the professionals who made the biggest jumps have already left Schalke. New Wolfsburg player Moritz Jenz was rewarded for his strong second half of the season with an increase of two million euros. The defender is now at 7.5 million euros. He is followed by Alex Kral (moves to Union Berlin, from 5.5 to 7 million euros) and Tom Krauß (future open, no Schalke stay, from 6 to 7 million euros).
It is not yet clear what will happen to top scorer Marius Bülter and playmaker Rodrigo Zalazar. The duo’s future will probably not lie with the Knappen. In any case, both players were given a market value increase of 500,000 euros. This means that Bülter (3 million) and Zalazar (4 million) have now reached new career highs. The same applies to Tim Skarke (plus 200,000 to 1.2 million), who could stay in the Ruhr area after his loan from Union Berlin.
Schalke: Loan flops lose market value
This is out of the question for Michael Frey and Eder Balanta. Both loan players have already been sent off and are returning to their parent clubs. They were not able to make a lasting impression after their winter moves to Schalke anyway. They were punished by Transfermarkt.de with a clear minus of one million euros each. Both now stand at two million euros.
In addition, Sebastian Polter (minus 900,000 to 800,000 euros), Cedric Brunner (minus 700,000 to 1.8 million euros), Maya Yoshida (minus 600,000 to 900,000 euros), Tobias Mohr (minus 600,000 to 1.2 million euros), Mehmet Aydin (minus 500,000 to 1.5 million euros), Thomas Ouwejan (minus 500,000 to 2 million euros), Timothée Kolodziejczak (minus 300,000 to 400. 000 euros), Marcin Kaminski (minus 300,000 to 700,000 euros), Leo Greiml (minus 300,000 to 1.2 million euros), Niklas Tauer (minus 300,000 to 1.2 million euros), Dominick Drexler (minus 150,000 to 750,000 euros), Danny Latza (minus 100,000 to 500,000 euros) and Simon Terodde (minus 100,000 to 900,000 euros) are now listed with lower market values.
