Lionel Messi (35) goes to Inter Miami – and complains a bit

Apparently, sponsors Apple and adidas played a role in Lionel Messi’s decision to join Inter Miami.

Football superstar Lionel Messi is moving to Inter Miami – the Argentine has confirmed this in an interview. The striker played his last match at PSG last Saturday.

Co-owner of Inter Miami is football icon David Beckham.

So after two seasons at Paris Saint-Germain, seven-time world footballer Messi is leaving the French champions at the end of the season. His contract expires on 30 June, meaning Messi can move on a free transfer.

It had been clear for some time that the 35-year-old would be leaving PSG and Paris. Apparently, sponsors Apple and adidas also played a role in the negotiations with Major League Soccer club Inter Miami.

Messi had previously negotiated a return to FC Barcelona, the club where he built his career, and with Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia, who had apparently offered 300 million euros in annual salary.

In the interview, Lionel Messi complained that there were people at FC Barcelona who did not want him to return to the Spanish top club.
