Ex-Essener Adetula has found a new club

VfB Oldenburg has been relegated from the 3rd division to the Regionalliga Nord. Many players have left the North Germans. Also a former player from Rot-Weiss Essen.

Ayodele Adetula played 19 games (two goals, one assist) for VfB Oldenburg in the relegation season. It was clear early on that the 25-year-old would be leaving the North Germans. Now the speedy winger is sure where he will be moving on to.

Adetula is moving to TSV Steinbach Haiger, a club in the Southwest Region League. The two-footed winger has signed a contract with the Hessians until 30 June 2025.

“With Ayodele, we have added a player who was promoted at his previous station. He has also been able to gain experience in the 3rd division and brings a lot with him that will be good for our game. Ayo also has a very high tempo and determination in the final third. That’s why we are happy that we were able to agree on a contract with him,” says TSV head coach Pascal Bieler.

Adetula comes from Bremen and that is also why he chose the jersey number 28 – the beginning of Bremen’s postcode. He played a total of 20 games in the 3rd division for VfB Oldenburg and Eintracht Braunschweig.

In Oldenburg’s season of promotion, he was a formidable player: the 1.84-metre man scored ten goals and provided 15 assists in 29 games. In addition to Oldenburg and Braunschweig, Adetula also played 15 times for Rot-Weiss Essen in the Regionalliga West (three goals, one assist) and in the youth section of SV Werder Bremen. With RWE, the Steinbach newcomer won the Niederrheinpokal for the 2019/20 season.

“I am very much looking forward to the new task and want to contribute to helping the team achieve its goals as much as possible,” says Adetula.

TSV Steinbach have been trying to knock on the door of the 3rd division for years. In the coming season, the Steinbach side are considered top favourites along with TSG Hoffenheim II and the traditional club Kickers Offenbach, who made big transfers by Fourth Division standards.
