16 test players fight for contracts – Regionalliga West quartet is also there

FSV Zwickau currently have only ten players under contract after their relegation from the Third League. They are busy testing in the training camp.

On Wednesday afternoon, 5 July, the FSV Zwickau team bus rolled up to the grounds of the “laVital Sport- und Wellness-Hotel” in Wesendorf (Lower Saxony – district of Gifhorn). Rot-Weiss Essen will also hold its training camp here from 15 to 22 July.

Last year’s league rivals of Essen and future Regionalliga-Nordost representatives Zwickau have travelled to the training camp with a total of 26 players, 16 of them as trial players. Yannick Linnemann and Sonny Ziemer were unable to make the trip to the camp due to injury.

Four of these trial candidates are also familiar to fans of the Regionalliga West. Felix Schlüsselburg, who once played for Rot-Weiss Essen and Rot Weiss Ahlen, Luis Klein, who spent last season with FC Schalke 04’s second team, and Simon Roscher, a striker on loan from Rot-Weiß Erfurt to SG Wattenscheid 09, will be fighting for a contract with FSV Zwickau in the next few days. The fourth in the bunch is Lloyd-Addo Kuffour, who also played last season in the Regionalliga West, namely for Rot Weiss Ahlen.

It remains to be seen how many of the trial players will end up staying in Zwickau. 16 trial players in a training camp is definitely a statement!

These are the players that the new FSV coach Rico Schmitt is testing in the preparation camp:

Lloyd-Addo Kuffour (21 years/Rot Weiss Ahlen), Mika Schneider (23/Greifswalder FC), Enrico Startsev (19/Rot-Weiß Erfurt), Ensar Skrijelj (23/Hannover 96 U23), Simon Roscher (21/Rot-Weiß Erfurt), Simran Dhaliwal (22/Germania Halberstadt), Luis Klein (20/Schalke 04 U23), Felix Schlüsselburg (22/Rot Weiss Ahlen), Emeraude Betani Baku (20/BSV Rehden), Michal Mikolajczak (23/Union Fürstenwalde), Luca Jensen (25 Greifswalder FC), Elias Kratzer (23/SpVgg Greuther Fürth U23), Sandro Sengersdorf (24/SV Heimstetten), Kilian Senkblei (24/SGV Freiberg), Leon Asseth (own U19), Louis Schädel (own U19)
