This is how Dabrowski wants to get the first win against Cologne

Rot-Weiss Essen’s home match against Viktoria Köln kicks off at 7pm. RWE coach Christoph Dabrowski has changed the team in four positions.

In the 2-2 draw against MSV Duisburg, Christoph Dabrowski started with the same eleven as in the 1-5 loss against Spielvereinigung Elversberg. That is now over. For the home match against Viktoria Köln, the football coach has changed his team in four positions.

Sandro Plechaty, Felix Herzenbruch, Cedric Harenbrock and Niklas Tarnat will be replaced by Meiko Sponsel, Moritz Römling, Thomas Eisfeld and Simon Engelmann. The latter scored immediately after his substitution against MSV and is now allowed to start from the beginning for the first time.

“My boys are very self-critical on the road and recognise the things they are doing wrong. They work hard to get better. It’s clear that the 3rd Division is new territory for some of them. We need patience. We have also taken that into account. We want to bring the boys up to this level,” Dabrowski had already announced on Monday at the matchday press conference with regard to possible changes.

Viktoria Köln, meanwhile, had to cope with bad news: For the away match at Hafenstraße, the team’s number one Ben Voll is condemned to watch. He has contracted food poisoning. In addition to Voll, Cologne coach Olaf Janßen will also have to do without the suspended Christoph Greger and the injured players Jeremias Lorch (cruciate ligament tear), Luca Marseiler (ankle) and Andre Becker (torn inner ligament) in Essen.
