Double test against Premier League promoted team to open the season

VfL Bochum’s season opener will take place at the Ruhrstadion on 5 August. The opponents and the match schedule have now been determined.

One week before the 1st round of the DFB Cup at Arminia Bielefeld, VfL Bochum’s season opener is on the agenda. The opponent for 5 August has been found. The game will be played in a double-header.

They will play Luton Town FC twice in one day. The Premier League promoted team will be guests at the Ruhrstadion. To make the journey worthwhile, the match will be played for a total of 180 minutes.

Kick-off for game one is at 1:30 pm, the second 90 minutes start at 4:15 pm. Tickets will be available from the ticketonline shop from 10 a.m. on Friday (21 July). There are seats in the South Stand (15 euros, concessions ten euros) and standing room tickets in the East Curve (eight euros, concessions five euros).

The prices are the same whether you attend only one or both matches. On 5 August, the box offices will be open from 12:30 pm. However, VfL recommends that tickets be purchased early.

Meanwhile, the traditional family festival will be moved to September and will take place during the international break as part of the celebrations for the club’s 175th anniversary. Autograph hunters won’t have to wait that long, though. On Sunday, 6 August, all wishes will be fulfilled from 1 pm.

This means that all the dates for Bochum’s summer preparation are fixed. Coach Thomas Letsch’s team has already played two matches. On Friday (21 July, 6 p.m., RS-Liveticker), the team will play Fortuna Düsseldorf before heading off to the training camp.
