Two-time Croatian U20 international in sight

Rot-Weiss Essen seems to have found the attacker they were looking for in the Bavarian Regionalliga. His stats are very interesting.

In eleven days (Friday, 4 August, 7pm) Rot-Weiss Essen will open the third division season at Halleschen FC. Two positions are currently still to be filled in the RWE squad.

An attacker is to come, as well as an offensive winger. The search for a striker is becoming more concrete. According to RS-Infos, first reported by the “Bild”, RWE has increased interest in 20-year-old Leonardo Vonic.

He is under contract with 1. FC Nürnberg II until 30 June 2024 and has not yet played for the second division professionals. But he has been successful in the Bavarian Regionalliga. In the last round, he collected an impressive 29 scorer points (22 goals, seven assists) in 36 games.

Nevertheless, the two-time Croatian U20 international has not yet been able to make a lasting impression on the FCN professionals. This could be a chance for RWE, who, according to Bild, are prepared to pay a transfer fee of 90,000 euros for the attacker after he signalled that he does not want to extend his contract in Nuremberg. If the deal goes through, the striker would immediately become the most valuable player in the Essen squad with a market value of 600,000 euros.
