Another new addition: “You rarely get a player like that”.

Before the start of the season, there is another new arrival at 1. FC Bocholt. He comes from the Dutch second division.

1. FC Bocholt has already made numerous transfers this summer. Shortly before the start of the season in the Regionalliga West at the weekend, the club from the Lower Rhine intensifies its activities once again.

After Kelvin Lunga was presented on Wednesday, the Bocholt club announced the signing of Jarno Janssen on Thursday. The Dutch central defender last played for FC Eindhoven in the second Dutch league. He played a total of 61 competitive games for the club.

“I am glad that thanks to a good network such a transfer can be realized. Jarno is a player who will help us immediately. He is a central defender and left-footer, comes from the second Dutch league – it is rare to get such a player,” explains squad planner Christopher Schorch. “It’s great that we were able to tie him to us for the long term, because he will also bring us forward in terms of quality once again at the top.”

Janssen convinced FCB coach Dietmar Hirsch in trial training. “It felt good right away and I got a lot of encouragement from the club, which had a positive influence on my decision,” the defender reported. “I want to play an important role in the team and help it further. In terms of the table, we would like to position ourselves as high as possible, of course, but exact tendencies can only be established in the course of the season.”

Janssen is already the 17th new addition to the Bocholt team. Thus, they will go with a retread team into the first game of the season at FC Schalke 04 II on Saturday (2 p.m., RS-Liveticker).
