Preußen Münster suffered a heavy 0:4 defeat in the derby at Arminia Bielefeld. SCP promotion coach Sascha Hildmann had clear words.
Arminia Bielefeld won the derby against Preußen Münster 4:0 in front of 24,052 fans at the home Alm.
The visitors from Münster were served after the game and had to shake themselves first. After all, the promoted team had dominated the ball and the opponent in almost every game for a year. Now they have landed hard on the ground of the third league facts.
“We realised that we simply had to put in a highly concentrated performance over 95 minutes. We were not four goals worse than Bielefeld. We get the 0:1 and then we have a huge chance to make it 1:1. A header from three metres, it has to be right. After the 0:2 it was difficult. The 0:2 was a crucial point, but even after a 0:3 there is something in it. But Bielefeld played it down well,” Sascha Hildmann told “nullsechs.tv”.
But the Münster coach was already looking ahead to the next game: On Tuesday (22 August, 7 p.m.) against FC Ingolstadt at home in Hammer Straße.
Hildmann: “Preußen Münster have fallen down now, but we will get up again and on Tuesday we will continue against Ingolstadt. I told the boys that this is how the 3rd Division works. We will have away games like that now, also in terms of the atmosphere. We have to cope with that.”
Defender Simon Scherder took a similar view. The 30-year-old, who has been an Eagle bearer for almost 20 years, naturally had to struggle especially with this hefty derby defeat. But Scherder also vows to do better.
Scherder: “To go home with a 0:4 is extremely bitter. At this level, your own mistakes are punished with a vengeance. Maybe that wasn’t the case in the regional league. We had worse games there, but the opponent didn’t punish us. It’s good that we have such a short week. We don’t have much time to think about a game like that. I hope we can show a reaction directly on Tuesday. “
