Official! New goalkeeper is here and receives a five-year contract

The transfer of goalkeeper Daniel Peretz to FC Bayern is perfect. On Friday evening (25 August), the Israeli was officially presented in Munich.

The transfer of goalkeeper Daniel Peretz to FC Bayern Munich is perfect. The 23-year-old goalkeeper comes from the Israeli club Maccabi Tel Aviv and receives a five-year contract with the German football record champions until the summer of 2028.

According to media reports, Munich will pay a base fee of five million euros for the temporary number two behind Sven Ulreich.

After a tenacious search and numerous twists and turns, FC Bayern’s goalkeeper transfer construction site is now closed. For a long time, the Munich team had been looking for a replacement for captain Manuel Neuer, who is not yet fit to return to action after breaking his leg. Shortly before the start of the Bundesliga, the club bosses decided to start the new season with Ulreich as number one. Peretz must now take his place behind the 35-year-old. He is seen as the man of the future and is expected to learn from Ulreich and Neuer.

The strengths of the 1.87 metre tall Israeli lie above all in one-on-one and on the line. In addition, Peretz, a modern keeper with excellent physicality and athleticism, is considered a real penalty expert, both in his own penalty area and in the opponent’s penalty area. In addition to saving numerous penalties, Peretz also scored two goals himself from the spot in the 2019/20 season for second-division side Beitar Tel Aviv.

“We have been watching him for a long time. He played a very good U21 European Championship. After that, we had decided that he could be a good addition to our goalkeeping group,” Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel reported before the official signing.

FC Bayern Munich: Big names were traded before

After the transfer was announced, Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen said: “With Daniel Peretz, we are very well positioned in our goalkeeping team in terms of perspective – for this season and for the future. He has great potential.” Peretz spoke of the “dream of every child to one day play for a club as big as FC Bayern”. He was “hungry for everything that comes now”.

Previously, bigger names had been traded such as Kepa Arrizabalaga, David de Gea, Bono or Stefan Ortega. Yann Sommer (to Inter Milan) and Alexander Nübel (to VfB Stuttgart) had left Munich. wozi mit dpa
