Choreo prohibited again – UGE demand: cancel immediately!

The Ultras Gelsenkirchen have again been refused permission for their second home match against Holstein Kiel. They are fighting back against this again.

The tensions between the Gelsenkirchen police and the Ultras Gelsenkirchen continue.

The Ultras Gelsenkirchen had also applied for a stadium choreography for FC Schalke 04’s home game against Holstein Kiel on Friday evening, as they did for the first home game against 1. FC Kaiserslautern. Once again, this was prohibited due to the new security concept.

The Ultras Gelsenkirchen protested against this with a poster: “Lift ban on choreography! Immediately!” was their demand. They wrote in their magazine “Blauer Brief”: “As we did for the home game against Kaiserslautern, we had also registered a choreography with the club for today’s game against Kiel. Unfortunately, in the days before the game, we again received the news that this could not be approved due to the security concept agreed with the police and fire brigade.”

“So the farce continues, briefly covered windows of the control centre above blocks G and H are the reason that what was possible all these years is now no longer working – choreos in the Nordkurve. This is, of course, absolutely unacceptable to us and we call on all those involved – whether the fire brigade, the police or the club’s security officers – to find a solution immediately to restore things that are taken for granted in the stadium.”

But that is apparently not so easy to implement. The club told RevierSport that it was still in talks, but did not want to give a status report. So something is moving in the matter.

But should the police control centre actually be relocated, this will certainly not happen overnight. “Nothing has happened at Choreos for more than 20 years and yet security measures are being raised again. The fact that a window in the ultra-modern camera systems is supposed to be the deciding factor and that a brief view from the main stand is not enough is incomprehensible to us and certainly not acceptable. Reverse this madness so that the Nordkurve can support the team not only acoustically but also visually in the usual way,” is the UGE’s message to the club.

To show all fans in the arena where the control centre is currently located, the fans have hung a poster above it with the words “Problem Window”.
