Mülheimer FC scores in a losing cause, first home win for Bövinghausen

Four games were on the agenda in the two top leagues. Mülheimer FC took a 1:1 from Hilden while being outnumbered, Türkspor Dortmund scored in Münster.

Two games had to be played on the 3rd matchday in the Oberliga Niederrhein already on Saturday. Germania Ratingen and SV Straelen had already drawn 1-1 on Friday evening.

KFC Uerdingen clearly kept the upper hand in the duel with Sportfreunde Hamborn and won 3:0, their first victory of the season.

Newcomers Mülheimer FC were up against last year’s runners-up VfB Hilden and, despite the difficulty of the task, were hoping for their first win in the new division. The first setback came early on, however, when summer newcomer Kanata Todate scored his first goal for Hilden in the 10th minute to make it 1:0.

In the second half, the Mülheimers weakened themselves with a sending-off, but in the final phase, the promoted team managed to score the final goal for a 1-1 draw. Anil Yildirim (81st) saved MFC’s second point of the season, while VfB missed out on their second win despite being outnumbered.

Two matches were also on the agenda in the Oberliga Westfalen. Preußen Münster’s reserve team received Türkspor Dortmund, TuS Bövinghausen met FC Brünninghausen.

In Münster, Türkspor Dortmund tried their hand on the offensive and, after slight problems at the beginning, had more chances. Thus, the team of guest coach Sebastian Tyrala also deserved the 1:0 at half-time, which Semih Yigit scored from the penalty spot in injury time of the first half.

Türkspor started the second half again with a lot of pressure, but failed to score the second goal and got the reward: Luca Steinfeldt scored the 1-1 after a free kick (73rd). In an emotional final phase, there were chances on both sides, the best of which came from Türkspor’s Nazzareno Ciccarelli, who failed to score from the penalty spot against goalkeeper Roman Schabbing (83rd). The result was a draw and Dortmund remained winless.

First home win for Bövinghausen

TuS Bövinghausen started well in the derby against Brünninghausen and took the lead through Ilker Algan (38th). Immediately after the break, however, it was the visitors who equalised through Florian Gondrum (46th) – 1:1.

As the game progressed, it became more heated, including a red card against the home team’s bench. Albin Thaqi (61st) was then able to give TuS the lead, which Christian Knappmann’s team brought home for their first home win.
