This is how the “small AGM” should proceed – focus on the financial situation

Rot-Weiss Essen and the fan and sponsorship department are organising a “small AGM”. Location, procedure, stream: This is how the event will proceed.

A date that many fans have already marked in their calendars: Rot-Weiss Essen will hold a “Small Annual General Meeting” on Tuesday (5 September, 7.07 p.m.) together with the fan and support department. The club has now announced details of the event.

Under the moderation of Ralf Schuh (former fan representative on the supervisory board), Marcus Uhlig and Sascha Peljhan from the executive board as well as Dr. André Helf and Hans-Henning Schäfer from the supervisory board will be available in the VIP area Assindia in the stadium on Hafenstraße to exchange ideas with the members, according to RWE.

The topics are clear: It is about the financial situation of Rot-Weiss Essen. At the regular AGM in June, the third-division club reported a deficit of 3.6 million euros for the past calendar year and an increase in debts to almost 5.5 million euros. Next Tuesday, club officials want to provide “additional information on the economic development of the club in 2022 and 2023”, classify the figures and answer the questions received by the FFA.

As the VIP area can only be filled with a maximum of 400 people at such an event, attendance is only possible for club members and only after prior registration. Members can find the relevant registration form on the RWE website. The event will be streamed live on Youtube.

And RWE has another piece of information up its sleeve: the Annual General Meeting is to be continued in mid/late October this year – it had to be cancelled in June. The association will announce more details on the date and location soon.
