Test draw against second division team – defender operated on

Third division side SC Preußen Münster held second division side Hannover 96 to a 1-1 draw in a test match. Meanwhile, Dominik Schad underwent successful surgery.

SC Preußen Münster used the international break for a test match. 48 hours after their Westfalenpokal victory over Borussia Münster, the Adlerträge and second-division Hannover 96 drew 1-1.

Thorben Deters gave the third-division team a 1-0 lead after 67 minutes with a goal worth seeing. However, Monju Momuluh equalised seven minutes before the end after a carelessness by Thomas Kok.

“We saw a very good test and were able to gather important knowledge against a good second division team. We played bravely, solved it with good positional play football-wise and scored a very nice goal. I am absolutely satisfied with the game,” Münster coach Sascha Hildmann analysed the test to the club’s own media.

Scorer Deters added: “We played good football ourselves and had our opportunities, especially in the 2nd half. The goal we conceded was annoying, we would have liked to win. But we invested a lot and were able to go one better with fresh personnel.”

This is how Preußen Münster started the game: Schenk – Koulis, Kok, Hahn – Benjamins, Bazzoli, Preissinger, Mrowca – Grodowskisi, Batmaz.

For the promoted team, the league routine continues on Saturday (16.9., 2 pm) with an away match against second-division relegated SV Sandhausen. In the 3rd round of the Westphalia Cup, Landesliga team SV Vestia Datteln awaits (date unknown).

Dominik Schad successfully operated on

As is well known, Dominik Schad, who tore his lateral ligament in the 4-0 defeat against Arminia Bielefeld three weeks ago, did not take part in the test match. On Thursday, the new signing from 1. FC Kaiserslautern underwent successful surgery.

“The (outpatient, ed.) procedure went completely without any problems,” Schad is quoted as saying by Bild. “If the healing process goes without any setbacks, I would like to return to training in preparation for the second half of the season. That is my goal,” he added.

Next week, the 26-year-old will begin rehab.
