Julian Draxler has probably found a new club. According to media reports from France, it’s off to the desert.
According to the French newspaper L’Equipe, former international Julian Draxler is on the verge of a move to Al-Ahli SC in Qatar. Together with the 29-year-old, World Champion in Rio 2014, the Italian Marco Verratti (to Al-Arabi) is also to move from Paris St. Germain to Qatar.
The transfer fee for Draxler, including bonuses, is said to be 15 million euros. However, the signing has not yet taken place and the medical check for the ex-Schalker and ex-Wolfsburg player Draxler is still pending.
Draxler spent 14 years at Schalke, turned professional and made 168 appearances for the club (29 assists and 29 assists each). He has made 58 appearances for the national team, most recently in March 2022.
