Rot-Weiss Essen fails to sustain momentum in the U19 Lower Rhine League. TSV Meerbusch remain at the top.
In the U19 Lower Rhine League, Rot-Weiss Essen beat Spvg Schonnebeck 5:1 a week ago. The knot is broken – or so they thought in Essen. But they were wrong.
Just one week later, on the fourth matchday of the still young season, the team suffered its second setback. After the defeat in the first home match against VfB Hilden, the team now lost 2:2 against SG Unterrath.
And the point was also hanging by a thread. The visitors took the lead twice through Bradley Asoh and Nabil Lahrache. RWE equalised with goals from Sion Beuker and Milot Ademi. At the break, it was a deserved 2-1 for Unterrath. After the break, RWE improved enormously, had chances to win, but were also lucky in the last minute that they did not score 2:3.
Thus, the Essen team continues to wait to get into a run. Meanwhile, the city rivals from Schonnebeck recovered well from the defeat at RWE. In the top match between third and fourth, Schonnebeck won clearly against Dostlukspor Bottrop with 5:1. Connor Tönnies (2), Marcio Elia Lopes da Silva Do Vale, Paul Thumulla and Kerron Oteng-Adjei scored for the league’s ballers, who have now scored 21 goals after four matches.
Things are going well for Schonnebeck, RWO can’t say the same for the U19s. For the third time in the fourth match, there was no three-goal win. Against SC St. Tönis, the cloverleaves played 2:2, with RWO squandering a comfortable 2:0 lead at the break.
Four goals in Oberhausen, seven in Schönebeck. There was a lot going on in SG Essen-Schönebeck’s 4:3 against Arminia Klosterhardt. Schönebeck led, Klosterhardt turned the game around to 3:1, then the hosts fought back and secured points seven, eight and nine after the 4:3.
Klosterhardt remain on three points, three more than VfL Rhede and KFC Uerdingen. Rhede remains without points after the 1:3 at SC Velbert, Uerdingen after the 0:3 defeat against TSV Meerbusch. Meerbusch thus remain at the top with the full points tally after four matchdays, ahead of Schonnebeck and Viktoria Buchholz (3:1 against VfB Hilden), who both have nine points to their name.
