188 Third Division games – Ex-Münster player has found new club

Because club-less players can also be signed after the end of the transfer period, Martin Kobylanski has now found a new employer.

TSV 1860 München underwent a major upheaval in the summer. Many players had to leave or were looking for a new challenge themselves. On the other hand, the “Löwen” also signed more than a dozen new players.

At the end of June, the contract with midfielder Martin Kobylanski was terminated by mutual agreement. “It is part of professional football that the general conditions at a club can change,” Kobylanski said afterwards.

The 29-year-old had been clubless for almost three months, but has now found a new club. On Wednesday afternoon, the north-eastern regional league club VSG Altglienicke announced the signing of the former Bundesliga professional. Kobylanski signed a contract with the Berlin club until the end of the season. The native Berliner is thus returning to his homeland.

Last season, Kobylanski played 23 games in the Third Division for TSV 1860 München, scoring three goals and collecting two assists – not enough for the demands of the attacking midfielder. He proved that he can do better at his previous stations.

Kobylanski had his best years in Münster and Braunschweig.

For Preußen Münster, the German-Polish contributed 41 scorer points (27 goals, 14 assists) in 89 third-league games. In total, the 1.78-metre man played as many competitive games for no other club as he did for the Eagles.

He then moved to Eintracht Braunschweig, where he scored a whopping 18 goals in the 2019/20 season. At the end of the season, Eintracht celebrated promotion to the 2. Liga. In total, he can look back on 188 games in the 3rd division with 51 goals and 34 assists.

Kobylanski also gained experience in the German top flight. In 2013/14, he made eight appearances for SV Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga. It will be exciting to see whether the 29-year-old will make his debut for his new club on Sunday (17 September, 1 pm). VSG Altglienicke will then be guests of the second team of Hansa Rostock.

After a strong season last season, which saw them finish in fifth place, VSG are currently lagging behind their own expectations and have only seven points on their account after six games. Martin Kobylanski is now expected to provide new momentum…
