Without five men to Sandhausen, the coach’s plan

Preußen Münster face a difficult hurdle at SV Sandhausen in the 3. Liga. Five players are out, one important player returns.

In the last two years, SC Preußen Münster felt it knew only one direction. It went upwards, there were hardly any setbacks. This was crowned with the sovereign promotion to the 3rd league in the summer.

Now, for the first time, there is a small dip because the start in the 3rd league did not go perfectly. After two defeats in a row against Rot-Weiss Essen and Waldhof Mannheim, the SCP is currently in 18th place – a relegation spot – with four points.

And now the difficult task at SV Sandhausen, relegated from the Second League, is on the agenda (Saturday, 16 September, 2 p.m.). But even SVS did not get off to a perfect start after a major upheaval in the summer.

Seven points currently mean tenth place. However, SCP coach Sascha Hildmann emphasises before the 90 minutes: “Sandhausen are self-proclaimed title favourites and want to be promoted. We are outsiders, but we want to sell ourselves well and show a good game. We are full of self-confidence. And we used the break very well. We analysed and talked a lot. And we also had a good test against Hannover, which we should have won. “

You have to manage to get those 50-50 games on your side. That will come, of that I am convinced

Which could also have been the case in Essen, the game that was only decided in injury time could have tipped in either direction. That’s why Hildmann puts his finger in the wound: “You can’t go into a game in this league and say ‘You’ll win that’. You have to manage to get those 50-50 games on your side. That will come, I’m convinced of that.”

In terms of personnel, Hildmann can once again rely on Marc Lorenz. However, it is still open how exactly he plans to deal with the veteran: “Marc Lorenz is back in training and will also be in the squad. That makes us very happy, of course. We’ll have to see to what extent he’s already an alternative. But it is still very early. Maybe for a few minutes.”

Dennis Grote (rehab after cruciate ligament rupture), Ogechika Heil (muscular problems), Shaibou Oubeyapwa (knee ligament rupture), Dominik Schad (knee ligament rupture) and Marvin Benjamins (adductor problems) will continue to be absent.
