Wuppertaler SV will host SC Wiedenbrück on Friday evening. Coach Hüzeyfe Dogan announces changes.

With eight points from seven games, SC Wiedenbrück are in the lower midfield of the Regionalliga West table after the first few weeks of the season. Most recently, the East Westphalians lost to Bocholt and Düren. But SCW is up against the league’s top teams: the two wins so far have come against Rot-Weiß Oberhausen and Fortuna Köln.

Wiedenbrück has thus beaten two of the three teams currently best positioned in the table. The third could follow on Friday. Daniel Brinkmann’s team is the guest of Wuppertaler SV (7.30 p.m., RS-Liveticker), who are tied for second place behind leaders Fortuna Köln.

“It will be a hard-fought game, they will attack us for 90 minutes,” believes WSV coach Hüzeyfe Dogan. He and his team already felt the effects of that in the pre-season, when they were held to two draws. Dogan warns: “They are very unpleasant and strong in two fights, also in the air because of their size. But they also have fast players.”

According to Dogan, it is therefore important “that we work from a compact position. We have the quality to win the game.” In addition, the 42-year-old coach announced that there would “definitely” be changes in his starting eleven compared to the 1:4 against Paderborn a fortnight ago – the first defeat of the season.

This is mainly due to the big injury worries at the Bergische. Especially in the centre of defence, the WSV is in need. In addition to the captain Kevin Pytlik, who is still serving a red suspension, the sidekick and deputy Lion Schweers (tendon injury in the foot, has undergone surgery) is now also out for a longer period of time.

Dogan names Durim Berisha, who is still lacking match practice after an injury, Mert Göckan or Ilhan Altuntas as possible alternatives. “We definitely have options available,” says the coach. In addition, Philipp Hanke, Lukas Demming and Kevin Hagemann are still not an option.

Meanwhile, Marco Terrazzino could make his debut on the offensive. The newcomer with first and second league experience is, according to him, “fully in the juice” – but was still waiting for his playing permit in midweek.
