RWE progresses confidently with nine new players in the starting eleven

Rot-Weiss Essen has mastered its task in the 2nd round of the Niederrheinpokal at the upper league team SC St. Tönis.

In the 2nd round of the Niederrheinpokal, third-league side Rot-Weiss Essen had to face top-league side SC St. Tönis. In view of the 1:2 loss to SSV Ulm 1846 in the league, RWE coach Christoph Dabrowski made nine changes to the starting line-up.

In the end, the result was 5:0 (3:0). Two of the new players brought the early 1:0. After a corner by Eric Voufack, Aaron Manu was in the right place and scored for the Essen lead. And after ten minutes, the match was already decided.

Because the goals that had only been scored to a moderate extent in the league recently were scored on Wednesday evening. Leonardo Vonic speculated correctly after an unfortunate back pass from Niklas Withofs and slid the ball into the empty goal – 2:0.

And it was Vonic who increased the lead to 3:0 before the break. The attacker, who was signed from Nuremberg, is busy earning points so that he can also start from the beginning in the league.
