Manfred Schwabl, president of Unterhaching, was annoyed during the break of the match against RWE that there were too many police on duty.

The ninth match day in the 3rd league takes place during the week. Among other things, Rot-Weiss Essen has to play SpVgg Unterhaching. 450 Esseners have taken the long way to Bavaria.

And they apparently had to put up with quite a bit of police activity in the venues around the Sportpark Unterhaching before the game. About 3500 visitors are present at the game, at the break the host led 2:0.

MagentaSport used the time to talk to Haching’s president Manfred Schwabl about what they had seen so far. While the ex-professional was very happy with his team after Mathias Fetsch’s brace, he had to be upset about another aspect.

Because before the game, in an absolutely peaceful atmosphere, he saw things that bothered him, as he pointed out: “The 3rd division is so awesome, but it annoys me when there are more policemen than visitors in the beer garden before a game.”

Who was responsible for this, Schwabl could not say, he speculated that politics had decided that. In the direction of the Essen fans, he explained, “The RWE fans here have behaved wonderfully. I also went to some and almost apologized. The game is one thing, but the other made me feel uncomfortable.”

Then he followed up with, “I don’t want to be president of a club where there are more police officers than spectators in a beer garden before the game.”

While he could be upset because his own team’s play gave no reason for any frustration, Essen’s co-coach Lars Fleischer commented with regard to the performance before the break. “It was not extremely loud in the dressing room, it was very annoying how we concede the goals. We imagined it differently. We had some good attacks, but we could never finish them.”
