On the 10th matchday of the Regionalliga West, Rot-Weiß Oberhausen travels to 1. FC Düren. After three goalless draws, a win is to be brought in again.

On Saturday (October 7), Rot-Weiß Oberhausen will take on 1. FC Düren in the top match of the Regionalliga West. Kickoff for the matchday 10 game is at 2 p.m. (RS live ticker).

Statistics can sometimes be deceptive in soccer. RWO, for example, has not lost its last eight games and has not conceded a goal in 450 minutes. Impressive. In the shadow of this record, however, are three winless games and 343 minutes without a goal of their own.

Two things that should change against Düren if the RWO coach has his way: “We want to stick to our strengths and our game, and we also have an unbeaten streak behind us,” Jörn Nowak was quoted as saying by club media ahead of the game. “That’s why we’re aiming for an away win in Düren, knowing full well that it will be a demanding task.”

Because 1. FC Düren has not yet lost a game at home and is one of the surprises of the current season. Coach Boris Schommers’ team has won its last five games and is tied for second place with leaders Fortuna Köln.

“Düren started well, currently has a run, a lot of self-confidence and a clear game idea,” Nowak said. “They are especially hard to play against on their own court, nonetheless we have also found things that we want to exploit.”

Cologne could advance on Friday night against Alemannia Aachen (7:30 p.m., RS live ticker). Against Fortuna, RWO has drawn the first of three recent goalless draws. This was followed by a 0:0 each against Ahlen and Bocholt.

That’s the difference so far: Like Düren and Fortuna, Oberhausen has only lost once, but has also only picked up four wins. With a win, RWO could move to within one point of Düren. The last one was at Fortuna Düsseldorf II (2:0). It was the temporary end of a four-game winning streak (2-0 against FC Gütersloh, 4-1 against Alemannia Aachen and SV Lippstadt).

In terms of personnel, Nowak will still have to do without Sebastian Mai, Kevin Kratzsch and Nico Klaß. The lazaretto has been joined by Marius Kleinsorge, who already underwent surgery on his syndesmosis ligament on Monday and will not be available to RWO in the coming months.
